Default wideband users: which do you have and how do you like it?

i need one, im leaning towards the zeitronics unit mainly because its only $280, and it can be used with hptuners (as soon as wideband support becomes available).

http://www.zeitronix.com/Products/zt2/zt2.htm

i'd like to hear from different people your thoughts on the ones you use, thanks

I'm really happy with my LM-1 set up. Although, I've never used anything else so I really can't compare it to any others.

I've had no issues with mine and I haven't heard a bad word about them.

Has anyone used the LM-1's clamp on holder and bung? What were the variances between the two options? How feasible would it be to use the clamp instead of a bung and swap the unit back and forth between 2 cars?

Just had my PLX Devices come in the mail. I'll wire it up in the next couple of weeks. I choose it over zietronics 'cause the analog wideband output is linear.

Not knowing how HP tuners intends to correlate Volts to A/F ratio, having a non-linear output may be an issue. I am assuming the HPT software will need to be calibrated for the analog input. Perhaps I assume wrong.... anyone know? HPT got something to add?

Speaking of which, when is the HPT cable shipping?

i might have to wait for HPTuners to release the new cable/software before i make my decision, i want to be absolutely sure that the wideband i buy will work with the new version

I just asked HPT if they would be supporting non-linear output and they said yes. So to all those that already bought the Zeitronix unit in anticipation of the HPT wideband release, you are safe.

I like my LM-1.
It has 2 programmable analog outputs that can be linear if you set them that way.

A linear output converts the a/f into voltage using a constant ratio. For PLX 0V = 10 A/F, 2.35V = 14.7A/F, and 5V = 20A/F. All points between can be determined using a linear expression A/F=2*V+10 .... easy

A non linear output will require an exponential equation at best or a calibration table at worst. More work

My guess is that PLX converts from digital wherease Zietronix keeps it analog.

The LM1 has worked well for me. Sample log...WOT 3rd.
This made my tuning easy from far away, like sending info to Diablo Sport. Took no time and paid for itself from going to the dyno.

i have a lamdaboy NTK based unit (bought it years ago) the ntk sensors react faster and are more accurate in very rich conditions. Also cost a bit more FJO used to make NTK based sensors. They are more prone to exhaust pulse than the bosch units.

It has 0-1V o2 compatible mode and 1-0V mode and 0-5V mode (one was an option i think). Worked great but the wiring on the sensor to db9 left something to be desired.

we've got access to the lm-1 with rpm pickup, its not bad, just slower sampling and more features and uses the cheapest sensors which we've burnt out one somehow already.

Default Very happy with the Zeitronix unit

Hey all,

I just wanted to post and brag about the zeitronix A/F set up I just received and used. http://www.zeitronix.com/index.html -- Zt-2 Wideband Air/Fuel Ratio Meter

I am a real customer, not someone from the company pushing their product (check my other posts..). Anyway, I already had the laptop, so for about $300 less than the comparable Innovative set up I was able to measure, data log, and add custom user inputs (like RPM, boost, exhaust temps, etc). I am really impressed with this set up. ---- and now I no longer have to rely on the dyno A/F to effectively tune!! (At $100.00 per session!!). Totally psyched!

The readings seem accurate compared to a recent dyno session.

I have been using the Innovate Motorsports LC-1 and has worked perfectly. It has made tuning a breeze and with no guesswork. I am using the linear output connected to the HP Tuner's EIO Interface. I have been using it for a month and have no iseeues with it. It was easy to install and is $199. There are a couple of gauges that will work if you want a constant readout whether using a laptop or not.

LM-1 here too. Seems real accurate, and it has gotten the job done. Also kudos to Klaus on the Innovate forum for his great help in getting the most out of the product.
