Default What happened to LS1Tuning.com?

I know that some people posted both here and there. I tried to go there yesterday and I get a "coming soon" page like someone registered the domain but hasn't put anything on it. Did someone pull the plug?

The domain (ls1tuning.com) expired on 8-19-04. They apparently didn't pay to keep the domain.

Thanks for the info, Jes...

As a thought, would it be possible to combine the old LS1Tuning website with LS1Tech? I know LS1Tech has a tuning/electronics section in it. Could it be subdivided for LS1Tuning? Or could we all just use the tuning/electronics section here and post questions/concerns that would normally be posted in LS1Tuning? Even if the old posts can't be transferred and lost forever, we could cut our losses and start fresh.

It would save from having to start up the new site again, and you wouldn't need to get extra support money-wise to keep the other site open since LS1Tech seems to have enough support already. Plus, it would be nice to have the two sites combined for easier surfing of topics within both old sites (LS1Tech and LS1Tuning).

Just a thought...

I don't know who he used as his domain registrar, but godaddy.com does domains for $8.95 a year. They even do transfers with a one year extension for $7.95. If you can get a hold of him, let him know. I have 20+ domains with them and have never had a problem.

The board, posts, member lists, etc should all still be OK as they are stored on the server. They just forgot to pay for their name in an address book (of sorts) and you can't look them up by name. Assuming they're still online and have a static address, we should be able to hit the server by IP.

Just tried 63.251.163.115 which is the address for www.ls1tuning.com. Comes with one of those sites that holds on to ip address/domain names that have lapsed on there payment, etc.

ls1tuning.com will be back up soon. I used an old email address to register the domain and didn't get the expiration notices. That, coupled with me moving the past week and a half and not having 'net access has led to the delay of getting it back up.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Cool. Glad I started this thread.

It's almost fall here in Michigan and the time left for tuning before winter is dwindling.
