Question K.p.h. Default

On a U.S. spec car the speedometer will always default to M.P.H., for instance if you dis- connect the battery then re- connect it again, it will always default to M.P.H. I want it to default to K.P.H. I am hoping this is a programmable possibility, I have had many comments on this issue but no precise definate solutions, does any one know for sure how to achieve this?

I am not sure how this is done but its a good question and I would like to know as well. Where are you from to want this done to your car?

Lightbulb K.P.H. default

Hi my name is RON and I am in Australia. I believe the B.C.M. controls this function but can not confirm 100% If so then I thought it would be a programming issue. Canadian spec cars will default to K.P.H. so it must have been programmed in that format either in the B.C.M. or the speedometer, I think more likely in the B.C.M. But getting factual evidence and a sure fire way of achieving this goal is what I am after. Thanks for your responce, I will resolve this issue somehow.
RON.
