Default Cavalier ?

My g/f's 2000 Cheverolet Cavalier has rfeached the 33000 mile mark jsut about...and is in need of an air filter change...

now her check engine light has come on and i was wondering if this hasta do with the Air Filter or if it hasta do wiht her oil...her brother just changed the oil and am not sure if he rest the PCM or whatever or not?

if it is the air filter....would jsut replacing it and riding around wiht it take care of this light or not? if so GREAT....if not what will need to be done or what can be rong?

what should i do?

Default

you need to find out what code it is before you start replaceing stuff. the air filter can cause a fuel trim rich code but it would have to be pretty clogged to do that. go to autozone and get a code if you dont have a scanner. then tell us what it is and we can help.
