Default knock sensor code questions.

hope this is the apropriate section. the code is not excessive knock it says low voltage or short from knock sensor. any idea what causes this? i'm guessing maybe a bad sensor or wire. was also told it is a pain in the *** to change the sensor cuz it is under the intake.....any wisdom on this? I thought they were in the head.

You answered your own question I had the same problem, low voltage to the front knock sensor. I replaced them both with a new ones, wrapped some teflon tape around the threads and sealed them with silicone for good measure(there is a tsb on this). Inspect the wire harness for any nicks while you are at it. It wasn't hard to do, remove the intake and the sensors are right there, about an hour or two job at the most.

BTW any idea where I can find info on the TSB for this?

Yeah now would be a good time to change over to LS6 or LSX. I did a quick search and found these threads on the tsb...

LSX intakes are made by FAST, they are a sponsor on this board. They come in 78mm and 90mm. A bit pricey though, you should probably stick with the the LS6.
