HP Tuners ver 1.6 tidbit [ VE tuning ]
Per HP Tuners --
We have added some new features to the scanner histogram and editor for 1.6 to make tuning your VE a ** DREAM ** with the WBO2 and EIO interface.
Hmmm
I think I'll start my VE Mafless tune after the ver 1.6 release..

Any idea what the countdown is on the 1.6 release? I was lucky to avoid the agony of waiting for the 1.5 release (I stumpled upon HPTuners about 2 weeks before 1.5 came out).
Thanks
Ben
Thanks

My car is put away for winter , so there is no reason to buy it just yet.

I think this release will be closer to "on-time" based on what I have heard. I do expect they will be more tight-lipped about release dates from now on. I feel kinda bad about hassling them, but I did only do it in good fun.

heh, this is interesting..
I was going to make a post about 1.6 and VE tuning after I got back from the track on Sunday.
1.6 will be a free upgrade for all. It is considered a minor upgrade. Minor upgrades and bug fixes are free for life.
2.0 will be our first major upgrade.

Its pretty damn close to self tuning.. It does have these requirements.
1) You need to be able to right click the mouse.
2) You need to be able to left click the mouse.
I'll post some screenshots sunday hopefully... I have a lot to do to get the car race ready but if all goes well I'll post how I tuned the car at the track on Sunday using our new features.

looks like i'm gonna have to pick up a copy of HPTuners here in the future. prices going to go up w/2.0, or was that only w/the EIO option?
just picked up a y-pipe with a widebad o2 bung already welded into it....so its another excuse to get the EIO.

QUESTION ON HPTUNER FORUM ---
Is it possible to get the car to run off the MAF sensor only and ignore the VE table? I think this could be a good tuning tool for trying to get a good MAF curve. Make it a a feature that could be turned on and off.
Even better yet, can we get the a feature that allows us to pick how we want the car to run, as far as what sensor to use. This would eliminate the un-plug the MAF bs. Say something like this:
Airflow Sensors
Normal
MAF only
VE only
Constant 50/50 Blend
HPTUNER REPLY ----
yes. v1.6 will be able to do this.
