Question Courtesy light is on all the time

[TA LS1 -99]
First the problem was that the radio(clock) was on all the time.
Like if i have left the key in ACC mode, it don't turn off when i move to OFF posision.

Now my Courtesy light is on all the time.
I have removed the door contacts on both door and on the trunk.
But to no help.

After 10 sec I can here a click in the BCM... and the click continue every 10 sec.. like some relay that want to close but can't.

If I remove the C2 connector in the BCM the radio funktion is like normal. In Key-pos OFF the radio is of and in ACC the radio is on. But if i have removed the C2 connector the car don't start, so :-)

Is seams like eveyting is working after I have removed and replace the battery. But as soon I have started the car and turn if off the problem is there.

(Just found how to scan the BCM for DTC error codes, should try that, but I'm happy if someone have any ideas)

HELP!

One simple question, about the courtesy light... Is the i/p dimmer rotated all the way, which turns on the lights?

I don't have any help for the clicking or the radio. Unless the radio is just the RAP (retained accessory power), which doesn't turn off until you open a door (which requires the door contact switches to be in place...)

Wow, hehe!!! Didn't know about that function but see it now in the owners manual. Thank you! checking that tomorrow!

If I connect the door switch, and have the key in the start cylinder and open the door the chimes sound, so that must mean the door contact switches working. I know i get that sound on the drivers side.

It was the dimmer, TNX!

The radio-clock problem disappear, but that has happend before.
And after some time it's back. Will see later.

I run the BCM Diagnostic program and got this codes:
12
25
31
33
35
55

I understand that 3x codes are faults that has happend before, but what about the 25 code?
I read in the manual "DTC 35 is required for Content Theft Deterrent (CTD)
operation. SECURITY indicator must be detected for alarm to function."

But dose that include the 25 code I get? Is everything allright when i get the 25 code, or is something wrong.

================================================== =======
DTC Description
12 ......................................... Diagnostic System Check
21/31 ............... Courtesy Lights Feed Circuit Shorted To Ground
22/32 ............ Courtesy Lights Return Circuit Shorted To Battery
23/33 ............ Retained Accessory Power (RAP) Circuit Shorted To
Ground Or Battery
24/34 ..... Seat Belt Indicator Circuit Shorted To Ground Or Battery
25/35 (1) ................................ Security Indicator Status
41 (2) ................................. Last Message Received Valid
42 (2) ............................... Last Message Received Invalid
43 (2) ................... Last Message Received With Sumcheck Error
44 (2) ................. Last Message Received With Encryption Error
45 (2) ................... Receiver Processing In 20-Second Lock-Out
55 ..................................... Begin Configuration Display
(1) - On vehicles equipped with Content Theft Deterrent (CTD)
system.
(2) - On vehicles equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system.
DTCs are automatically cleared after they are displayed. To
display DTCs again, an RKE transmitter button must be pushed
again.

CURRENT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
Current Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) indicate Body Control
Module (BCM) has detected a fault which is currently present. Current
DTCs can be identified by the number "2" preceding the DTC. For
example, 21, 22, 24, and so on. Associated history DTC will also be
set when a current DTC is set.

HISTORY/INTERMITTENT DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
History/intermittent Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) indicate
Body Control Module (BCM) previously detected a fault which later
disappeared. History/intermittent DTCs can be identified by the number
"3" preceding the DTC. For example, 31, 32, 34, and so on. If a
history/intermittent DTC is set, fault may be intermittent or the
system for which the DTC is set may not be currently operating.

DTC 25/35: SECURITY INDICATOR STATUS
Description
NOTE: DTC 35 is required for Content Theft Deterrent (CTD)
operation. SECURITY indicator must be detected for alarm to
function.
Body Control Module (BCM) provides an output on security
indicator Light Emitting Diode (LED) control circuit to SECURITY
indicator LED.
DTC 25/35 will set when ignition is turned on and BCM does
not detect a security LED control circuit through BCM connector C3
terminal C16. Presence of security LED control circuit connected
through connector C3 at time of battery connection is required for
proper CTD operation.
Testing
CAUTION: Do not use test light or battery voltage to test SECURITY
indicator LED or LED will be damaged. Test light is okay to
test LED circuits with LED disconnected.
NOTE: Perform diagnostic test when DTC 25/35 is not set or if
SECURITY indicator is inoperative.
NOTE: SECURITY indicator is a Light Emitting Diode (LED).
1) Disconnect SECURITY indicator 2-pin connector. Connect
test light between SECURITY indicator 2-pin connector terminal "A"
(Black wire) and battery voltage. If test light comes on, go to next
step. If test light does not come on, go to step 3).
2) Using a DVOM in diode scale, connect DVOM positive (Red)
test lead to SECURITY indicator terminal "B" (Dark Green wire).
Connect negative (Black) test lead to SECURITY indicator terminal "A"
(Black wire). If SECURITY indicator comes on, go to step 4). If
SECURITY indicator does not come on, go to step 5).
3) Repair open Black wire between SECURITY indicator 2-pin
connector and ground.
4) Check for faulty connection between BCM and SECURITY
indicator circuit. Repair circuit as necessary. If circuit is okay, go
to step 6).
5) Replace SECURITY indicator. Disconnect and reconnect
negative battery cable. Recheck system operation.
6) Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) under REMOVAL &
INSTALLATION.

Good news on the dimmer.

Disconnecting C2 may have set some of those codes. Ditto for the door jamb switches. I'd try to clear everything and see where that leaves you.

Other than that, you've shot right on past my knowledge on this stuff now.
