Default Open Loop question

When tuning in Open Loop there is not fuel trim learning correct??? Does the O2 sensor have any function then when in OL? Could I take out a front O2 and use a wideband in place of it and would the car run perfectly fine? Thanks!

In Open loop the O2 sensors don't do anything... so WB O2s would be fine when Open loop... however you wouldn't be able to run closed loop unless you can output an analog 0-1 volt signal to the PCM

And Correct, in open loop there is no LTRIM Learning, it runs off the info in the PCM and doesn't adjust fueling via the O2s
