Default P0420 and P0430 Question

My car keeps flaging these two problems. It is cat bank one and cat bank two. At first it would flag this only on bank two. It started after I put the Juice to the engine. It only lit up after a Juice pass. Now both sides are flaging and they flag even when driving normal.

First Question,,,, If I turn the flags off with LS1 Edit is there anything else I need to worry about? Will turning the flag off cause other problems?

Second Question,,, I figure this is related to my Nitrous use. It use to only flag after a Nitrous pass. But now it always flags even with daily driving. Why do you think this is now happening? Do you think the cats are bad now or do you think there might be some other problems causing this?

Third Question,,, I am changing the whole exhaust. I will not have cats anymore. If I turn off those two flag codes with LS1 Edit, do I still need O2 sims? Or is that all I need to do?

Thanks all.

If you use LS1edit, you won't need sims for the rears. The 0420 code is for the drivers side cat, and the dealer will replace it under warranty if you want.

I have 66,000 miles on the car now. I did not get the extended warranty so I bet I am out of luck with that. Plus when they see the Nitrous kit I bet they will charge me double. I am just going to replace the exhaust with headers and everything all the way back, leaving the cats off the car. My main consern is if I was screwing something up by changinge the code flaging in the cars pcm. We are supposed to have cats here were I live but I have friends that will inspect the car and let it slide anyways.

Correct me if I am wrong, it sounds to me that the rear O2 sensors are only used to check that the cats are working properly. Am I right to assume that if you turn the flaging code off with LS1 Edit and remove the cats, that the computer does not use this info for anything except to turn on the SES light?

Thanks for you answer.

I just noticed I missprinted the codes. The first one was correct P0420, but I put P0230 on the second one. The second code was actually P0430. Sorry for the missprint. I think both of those are cat codes. P0420 being the driver side and P0430 being the passenger side.

Thanks again.

Just FYI, the stock dealer warranty is 8yr / 80,000 miles on emissions equipment. Don't know if they'd hassle you about the nitrous or not; I only had a lid and a cat-back on my car at the time I had mine replaced.
