Default TH350 tuning

I need to know this: I have read the you HAVE to get the PCM reflashed to think it is a M6 as opposed to the A4. The guy that is tuning my car doesn't think that is required and we can just delete the tranny codes that it throws. Will this hurt anything else? affect performance in any way etc?

We run a TH400 and that is exactly what I did (deleted all the A4 codes), no ill affects. You will need to retain your VSS signal though for you speedo to work, as well as some part throttle table use it as a reference IIRC from what Ken told me.

thanks for the reply. I had a new tailshaft housing fabbed that uses a magneto reluctor wheel to keep my speedo operational
