is it possible to reset the odometer??
i only ask because i had to buy a new cluster off ebay cuz mine **** the bed, and unfortunately the one i bought had around 36000 miles at the time. now i have a buddy at gm i can still have warranty work done through, but not if my odometer reads 40k miles. anyone have a suggestion on what to do? could the dealer look into the pcm somehow and see how many miles i really have?

cuz i had bought a set of stick on guages and i wanted some macewen guages , but they wouldnt come off, so i sold the cluster as a whole and bought another one. well, the one i bought was a 98 model which has different connections in the back, so it fried mine. so i couldnt very well take it to the dealer if it wasnt even the right one. anyway, i bought one with 36k on it and put the macewen guages on it now i have 40k miles and i cant get warranty work done, even thru my buddy, with 40k on the clock. any ideas?

Dealers have a tool called Tech II and with the green key card and PC software it can be changed. I have one but have stoped doing it for people as I found out I can get in a LOT of **** for it. I was using it to change VINs on cars to match others so people could share software.
But yes a dealer can do it.
