Default Trouble Code Question

My brother got a trouble code on his car this weekend.. The code is 122 Throttle position sensor low voltage. I was wondering what can cause this and will this cause any problems with his car running good and performance.

Thanks
Bryan

There's usually a letter preceeding the numbers. Like P etc.

Do a search on this website for "PO122".

Mod Edit:

we have this information available in a sticky on this site:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/pcm-diagnostics-tuning/209783-need-lookup-ses-code-look-here.html

also you want to search for P0122 ... it's a letter followed by 4 numbers (letter indicates where the error is coming from, Chassis (C), Powertrain (P) etc...)

The 2nd URL in the sticky provides a complete GM walkthrough on diagnosing this SES

When did it start happening? is your brothers car a 98?

What mods on the car?

https://ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1316076 shows lots of others that have gotten P0122

The 2nd URL in the sticky has the complete walkthrough for the DTC to troubleshoot

TPS sensor could be on its way out, Yes it can cause big performance problems (if the car doesn't know how much the TB is open it can cause issues)
