Default Mail order tune > Who's is the best?

I want to order a mail-order tune for my LS1 but don't know who to turn to.

Obviously there are plenty of sponsors who sell them but I would apprecaite some feedback from customers that have had good and bad experiences. What is the average price of a mail order tune?

Another question. If I order a mail order tune will I still be able to use LS1 Edit or HP Tuners to fine tune my car afterwards or do the tuners somehow lock their program?

Thanks

If you have HP Tuners or LS1 Edit, tune it yourself. Some places will lock the PCM and what a hassle to keep sending it back for retuning.

Here's what a mail order tune means to me:

Someone who has no experience with my specific car and setup is shooting in the dark at what "generally" works for cars with my mods. Well, not every car responds the same to the same mods sooooo I guess it's like betting $200-$400 on a hand of blackjack. You might get 21, or you might bust, or what would really **** me off is a losing hand of 15 or something like that (The tune is ok but not perfect). Or you could invest $500 into some real good tuning software, tune YOUR own car, to YOUR own liking, and never pay anyone a dime to play guess and check! The best thing is, you can give your car all the attention is needs and not rush things.

I bought a used $200 Predator and paid RWTD $100 for lifetime mail order tunes. I use my HP Tuners to record all of my info and post it on the forum. James then creates a custom tune. He nailed my A/F on the 2nd tune we tried, runs 12.8 to 13.0 on the dyno in WOT and still 14.7 to 15:1 at idle and part throttle. Before my LTFTs were in the 10+ range, now they are -4 to 0.

Forgive me, but why would you pay someone extra for something you can do on your own with HP Tuners? BTW, your trims will always push you back to stoich AFR, unless you run open loop all the time so no surprise there.

Try wait4me he did my tune it was great. I tuned it myself at first but you can only do so much like trims, pe and timing well that's what I thought. He changed other parameters I didn't even look at like torque management who would think that would have an effect on an m6? It wasn't mentioned in any of the things I read I had no idea.

Thanks Jess

Speed will do it for 150 but if you can do it yourself, why not!

I just received a tune from wait4me. He did a great job. At first I was just looking into getting my o2s deleted and air/egr and the price of o2 sims alone are about what he charges for a full tune plus whatever you can think of. It is not in my sig as that they have yet to com but I am getting Big Mikes true dual setup(in the mail) and that is what led me on the chase to ebay and typed in "o2 sims ls1". This is where wait4me(jessebubb)came into the picture. BTW after the flat rate you can send your computer to him as many times in the future for no additional charge.

Bryan Herter does mail order tunes..

He has so much experience & data logged for all cars with all kinds of mods from his dyno tuning, that he can do a supreme mail order tune based on your car & its mods...

Do not hesitate on this..
You have an experienced reputable tuner, who travels all over doing dyno tunes.. He will knock out a mail order tune in 1 day too..

You are not going to throw him a car with mods he hasn't already tuned for..

Trust me on this....

NoGo at EastSide Performance does email tunes. He's excellent. Their site seems to be in transition but you can give them a call.
