Dyno and Tune in SE Michigan
I have decided to get a tune for the car since I put the headers and exhaust on and will do a dyno as well.
I have searched and no one really posts what it cost them or their experience. I know we have some sponsors here that can do that (Livernois motorsports - who I am checking with since they are reputable).
I need to know what is a fair price for a dyno and tune with my setup?
I need to know if it is worth trying to tune myself with something like HPTuners?
Please answer with your experiences and such. Thanks to any that will post their tune costs/experience/opinions.

Seems like going rate around here is 400-500 for a dyno tune where you drop the car off and forget about it
This is the quick method... but generally only involves WOT timing and fueling... no part throttle...
But... part throttle is kinda hard to do on a dynojet (easier on a mustang dyno)
Dyno time is usually around 90/100 per hour I believe, so if you already own a tuningsolution ... you can spend 5 hours on the dyno trying different things and learning...

When doing the tune will I see additional gains in HP or does it vary widely and it may be minimal if at all???
I have read gains of 10 or even 20 HP which seem excessive for what little I have done.
And, with my current mods is a tune even necessary (I read that it is not needed with the mods I have)???
BTW
I had not heard of WOT vs. part throttle. Learn something new every day.

livernois charges 85$ for 2 pulls on the dyno and 90$ dollars for basic tuning.you do need to raise youre shift points and firmness in youre trans to get full use of youre shift kit.i just bought the same one recently and it says to do so.otherwise no mods to youre comp are needed other than maybe delete out youore o2 sensors.

I had a bad experience with APE...
Livernois is too far IMO.
I am looking at PFE and do not know about wheel2wheel.
I thought I would update this for anyone doing a search later. Right now I have it tuned with too much advance and I am continually throwing codes and running too rich and had knock due to same. BTW, I even replaced both newer Cats and rear O2s because of APE claiming it was not the tune. It was not until I went to PFE that I had solid confirmation that it is my tune causing me problems.
I am scheduled July 8th and will post results. My experience so far with PFE is A+.

Wheel 2 wheel was formed by two former C5 Corvette engineers, their tuning is done by a person who also tunes for other shops, and I am told he uses HPTuners equipment. Very reputable firm.
