Default HPP3 on a stock SS??

I am thinking about buying a HPP3 for my 2000 SS M6 that is stock except for SLP lid and the exhaust. Will it do much good for me? Like what will I be able to change and what would benefit me the most with buying the HPP3? I guess what I am asking is will I notice a difference?

dont bother. HPP3 =

if you want a hand held look into predator or crane. but i'd forgoe both of those for HPT or Flashscan; both are laptop based.

Don't bother with the HPP+ if you have an m6. I bought one and though it was helpful in changing my shift points and shift firmness it's performance tuning cost me 10hp on the dyno.

just my .02 here but a $500 software package like HP Tuners, LS1 Edit isn't going to do much for you either on a stock car. What are your plans ? If you're thinking about doing heads, cam, etc. then it might be worth looking into. Otherwise if you plan on staying close to stock you can pick up a used Hypertech or Predator for around $150-$200. You're not going to notice much difference with the Hypertech performance wise. I've been using a Hypertech on my 01 SS, I used it to adjust (lower) my fan temps with a 160 deg thermostat & for the shift firmness as mentioned. If money is not an issue then by all means look into HPT, LS1 Edit, EFI Live. etc. The advantage there will be you'll have a nice diagnostics/scan tool.

You can pickup more power than one would think with a stock car, and tuning, if you know what to adjust
