Default Stoich Setting??

I noticed in hptuners you can set the Stoich Ratio #......
would there be any use or reason for being able to change it???
would changing it have any benefits??
like say of you changed stooich to a richer # like 13.5 or something like that???
I have no plans to do so.... mostly just curious

You would change it when using a different type of fuel (other than pump gas). But for most of us, chaniging it wouldn't be a very good idea since the PCM tries to achieve stoich AFR when in closed loop. Try getting your 02s read 13.5 accurately, then talk to me!

For a strictly race car only, that is in SD Open Loop, yes. Otherwise no! Your MPG will drop drastically under cruise conditions.

If you were being fed a steady diet of oxygenated fuel,
alcohol etc. you would want to put the true chemical
stoichiometric value there. Closed loop will come back
around to whatever makes the O2s swing balanced but
open loop uses that as part of the fuel shot calculation
without any such correction.
