Default car won't attempt to start! no click or anything

the black box under the hood was clicking so i unplugged it, which fixed my light issue but......

it won't turn over. its like there is no power to the starter but there is a solid 4 guage wire that runs to it, battery is fully charged, clutch saftey switch is looped to ensure that wouldn't be the problem

i cut out some wires to the following things- fog lights (now hooked to linelock), EGR, ABS, A/C, AIR, radio, air bags, heater as they are all gone

kinda wishing i woulda left it stock

also, the anti shock sensor was pulled out since the last time the car ran, could that have anything to do with it?

Do you have a 12v signal going to the start terminal of the solenoid when you turn the key to the start position? I know it will be a pain to test but I would check and see if you can jump acrosss the terminals on the starter to see if the solenoid has gone bad. Then check for the 12 volt signal on the start wire.

Am I missunderstanding you here you have a 11.8 volt signal to the 4 gauge main power wire or to the start wire there are 2 wires that go to the starter if you have signal at both then the motor should turn over if not then the solenoid is bad or if it clicks the starter is bad. If you have no signal to the other wire when you hit the key either you have cut it on accident or maybe you have blown the crank fuse under the hood I believe it has one if I remember correctly. It has been a little while since I have been under the hood of an LS1 F-body.

main power wire is a 2 guage (rear mount battery)
power from the drivers side post to starter is a 4 guage
ground from starter to frame is 4 guage

when i put a screwdriver between the two posts it spins the starter motor
when i connect the small wire to the other wire, the plunger kicks correctly

when i go to turn the key there is NOTHING no click or anything, like if you don't have your foot on the clutch pedal but i've by-passed that

I had this problem on my car a couple of years ago. Turned out to be the wire that goes to the module that reads the little chip in the ingnition key had broken off inside my steering column. Very eapensive to fix at the dealer, I have heard of people testing the resistance of the chip in the key and simply puting a resistor in the wire somehow to fix this. Maybe some one else can help out here? Hope this helps.

disabled VATS, pulled the relay in the fuse panel and ran a "jump" wire between the orange and purple wire..... fired right up

relay is good so i guess we have it pin-pointed it to the area from the green wire coming out of the fuse block to the ignition switch with the help of the "HorsePower Factory" here in springfield

second problem- no tach, oil pressure guage is PINGED (god i hope i didn't break that AGAIN) and no fuel guage. the odo works and so does the volt guage

Usually means there is no ground when the gauges aren't working or they are pegged.

Where did you cut the stuff from the harness at? Under the hood or in the dash?

If you can wait till tomorrow I could probably get a copy of the complete wiring diagram from my shop. That is if Alldata has it which it should.

both

i pulled ABS and all sound stuff... plus i guess i cut alil more

ANOTHER update- from the relay to the engine compartment to the line to the clutch safety switch is uncut (the green wire). then i checked the purple wire with a white stripe and cannot find the end of that wire. any idea where it goes?

but the most important thing right now is getting the guages working. i have figured out a way around the ignition switch by mounting a little switch up and just using it to fire the relay (have confirmed the relay is good)

but right now it is 12:12 and i've been working on the car since 3

thank you for all the help guys, i owe ya one

I got the diagrams of both the PCM and the gauge cluster I just have to scan them in. I can email them to you if you would like.
