Default P0500 (vss)

speedo doesnt work with the gauge or with HPT. anybody know what would cause it and how to fix it. and where is the VSS located, all my sensors in the tranny are plugged in sans !cags. i think this is contributing to my fucked up idle among other things.

VSS should be on the tailshaft of the transmission (at least it is in A4s, and I'd assume the same for M6)... check the wires to make sure they're not corroded or anything ... it's possible that the sensor could have gone bad as well...
