I have a 2001 trans am ws6 6spd--with a descreened 75mm MAF (78mm) whatever it is really supposed to be.

Ok...I already have a NW 90mm TB and I have the FAST intake manifold; you think that my MAF is holding me back?? I found the excel sheet with the numbers and I see that the MAF numbers for the 02 Z06 are much smaller than mine. Should i spend the 190 on the 85mm MAF at paceparts and descreen it and use it?? and the fact that it is already descreened

also...will the 85mm MAF if i do get it will it fit the SLP air lid that i have now..and i see that the new MAF comes with a new bellow...i already have one that has been modified to fit my 90mm TB..will it also fit the new MAF??

If you want an 85mm MAF, why not just buy the one SLP sells. I can't imagine they would sell a MAF that's incompatible with their own lid. Then you can take the screen out and recalibrate it for your application. But, I don't think your stock MAF is holding you back. There are cars running 600hp on a stock MAF...and it's probably the last part I would put money into replacing. Just my $.02

yeh i know all about the slp marketing people. lol. So would yall say since i have descreened my MAF table possibly change my numbers a little percent and see what happens......I have a stock 78mm or 75mm MAF (whatever it is really supposed to be)

have anyone noticed any gains over switching to a larger MAF?? i really don't think its going to make that much of a difference

some manufacturers say that they send programming in the MAF chip already...which you can change as need be of course. you can change your table as need be to get things right in your tune or for a modified MAF
