Default How often is your LM-1 going through sensors?

As the subject asks... How often is your LM-1 going through WB o2 sensors? It's not a HUGE deal to me... the sensors are like $35 from the lcoal VW dealer.
But its sort of annoying.... and potentially unusual.

(And no... I dont run the car with the sensor turned off)

I have 2 LSU sensors here that have about 20K on them between a few cars and they still work fine. If your sensor is mounted too low in the pipe (water drips on them when they are hot) or is running very rich they dont last long. Make sure they arent banging anything either . Leaded fuel also cuts their life by ~90%.

They go 100K in a VW

How do you know it's gone bad? Does the auto-cal fail
or something? Just curious about what to watch for,
on mine. I use mine only for special occasions....

Thanks.

Does it have the same connector as the O2 you get with the LM1?

yup, the only thing I've found is the one that the LM-1 ships w/has longer chords than the ones I've ordered ... wasn't a big deal though as I just had to move the main connection wire closer tot he O2 sensor ...

I've got 2 of them sitting in my basement now (1 fouled out 1 cause I never turned the heater on)

sunnuva bitch....

I just went through one myself but i ordered an innovate replacement... Luckily they shipped two to me on accident so i guess I got lucky on $$$ this time. As far as going through them, I've gone through one, and it was heavily used for 4 months. Mine stared pegging super lean AFRs for no apparent reason then just crapped out one day with the LM-1 screen saying, "Error 03" or some stupid crap like that. The prescribed action as said by the Innovate manual is "Haha you're screwed, you need a new WBO2 you sorry jackass, we ripped you off bleh"

Not really as colorful as that, but I felt that way at the time...

Good stuff though, if i ever need a replacement.
