Default # of wideband O2s on FAST?

The FAST ECU, does it use 1 or 2 wide band O2s? I would THINK it would have 2 (one for each bank) but every pic and writeup I can find seems to only have one O2.

I have no exp w/FAST but.. I'd think 2 ... it runs very high horsepower cars... and I can't imagine they use Y Pipes ... and to calculate fuel based on 1 side would seem pretty stupid ....

PSJ uses FAST i think for his supercharged monster ... if he doesn't see this ... I'll IM him when he's online

My Gen7 had only one, I believe the FAST only uses 1 as well. It would be best to have one per cylinder but thats not feasable

well, all the cylinders are supposed to be the same right?

In theory you should only need one O2 for one cylinder to tune the car if everything is exatly the same which we all know it isnt.

One bank on a V8 will give a pretty good indication of whats going on, intake manifolds are a mirror image on each side so there really shouldnt be any major difference between banks. But what if you have an injector off or a leaky cylinder, well thats the problem with only one bank, depending of course which bank has the problem and which has the O2. If you put the sensor at the Y thats even worst, one very rich (or lean) cylinder can throw th whole thing off. I find it easy to swap the sensor from side to side and check the a/f at WOT on both sides to doublecheck everything.

I think BS3 has a dual wideband option (or maybe standard), its nice but not really necessary.

If you are trying to figure out manifold distribution/injector balance problems a WBo2 wont help you much anyhow, but an 8 channel EGT sure will.

I wondered about that. With all the extra inputs these aftermarket computers have, couldn't you just use one of the "extras" as another wideband input?

pulled this from LS1Speed (must have missed this part):

Big Stuff 3
The BigStuff3 GEN3 PRO SEFI system is the fi rst programmable “powertrain” control module for “today’s” SEFI, Coil-on-Plug (COP) engines and electronic controlled transmissions. The GEN3 PRO SEFI system offers many unique features that sets it apart from the competition. Features such as dual “Wide Band Oxygen” (WB02) air/fuel ratio control, individual cylinder & spark compensation and onboard data acquisition are just the beginning!
guess I know which one I will buy.....

A wideband O2 sensor is a complicated piece of equipment. Its not just a matter of having an available extra input. Widebands require complex controllers that interpret the signals from the sensors and provide a 0-5volt output to the ECU. Having more than one is really a waste of money unless you have an ECU that can give you control of individual cylinders or banks of cylinders.
