LT/ST basics????...

Default LT/ST basics????...

Having a stubborn problem with the hawk... Every once in a while more now than a few weeks ago, the car will sputter and backfire and has a horrible miss(like 4 cylinders out) and will backfire like crazy...

I scanned it at watched the ST/LT trims as follows:

ST trim 1 = 32.0
ST trim 2 = 1.6

LT trim 1 =25.00
LT trim 2 = 6.3

what does 1 and 2 mean? banks????

and is the higher the number the more fuel????

positive #'s are lean... negative #'s are rich....

looks like you need to fix your LTFT's or you have a bad O2 on bank 1.....drivers side front o2... I would consider trying to replace the o2 first..cause if its bad..it will fix that problem...

Thanks for the quick response....Would a O2 make a car run that bad like a miss??? Backfiring? the o2's are pretty new

yes a bad o2 will cause problems like that....
if they were handled on the tip by accident when putting them in...the oils on your hand can cause it to fail very prematurely...basically the oils deep fry the o2...LOL
and its an easy check...and of course...quality control is only as good as the mood of the person checking them...and sometimes bad ones slip by the QC...

have you done any mods to this vehicle?? were any of them recent(meaning did this show up after doing a mod)

I have had a head/cam package on the car for a while now, Recently I had the car tuned and the tuner said it had a bad Lean problem, the more fuel he added the leaner it went, he said it was a MAF problem.... I installed a brand new MAF..The car seemed fine for a few days...But I drive it for 15 minutes and its starts to miss really bad as if the whole left side is not working....I will try a new O2 tommorrow and see what happens..... Kind of the same problem my buddy has after I used HPT on his car, over his edit tune. Oddly enough, put the edit back in and it was fine for a few monutes, but then went south. It barely get better, then you shut it off and its like it loses all the trims it learned. His O2s were switching good, and looking at the DTCs, only the P0106 MAP was set, Misfire test Completed.

makes me also wonder if maybe you have an injector going bad...
noticed in your mods list...NOS Dry system...maybe had them above 80%duty cycle for a while and one gave out???

are you throwing any codes??? or have they all ben tuned out..LOL
