Default VE table: if you have a perfect table from...

If you have a perfect table from 0 - 4400 can you calculate the remainder of the table? For some reason when I try and go over 4800 RPM the car wants to go into reduced power mode so I am thinking that the tune is way off above there.

I suppose it would be possible, but I don't think you'll get very good results. I tuned my VE table up to the rev limiter at 6200 RPM using fuel trims, and I can tell you that the values did not increase in a linear fashion. Also, my VE values peaked out at around the RPM where I reach max TQ (about 4800 - 5200 RPM) and fall off after that. IMO, you might as well just take the time to do it the right way. But I have to say, it would be interesting to see how close to correct you could get the VE table up there by developing some sort of calculation.
