Super, I'm looking forward to sharing info with fellow FlashScanners. I got mine this week and can't really explain how impressed I am with it. It's a lot more than I expected and very easy to use.

The EFILive Personal Scan and Tune Product includes everything you need to scan, log and tune your 2000 Camaro (plus any one other supported vehicle of your choice). It retails for $699. Plus you can add etra vehicles via email activation codes for $99 each.

If you have the EFILive V5 or V6 Professional Scan Tool you can upgrade for $349.00. (Upgrading from the Standard Scan Tool is $449).

If you end up tuning many vehicles, we have an upgrade option that allows you to "trade in" your PCM licenses for a discount on the Workshop (unlimited) version. Tuning 75 cars will bring the price of the Workshop (unlimited) version down to only $1,040.00 This seems to the be the preferred method for mid to low volume tuning shops to obtain the Workshop (unlimited) version.

You can reflash your PCM using a *very* low spec laptop, our official minimum is 800MHz, but we routinely test our software on 250MHz Toshiba laptops. (We had to purchase them via eBay for $150, no computer store would sell us such low spec laptops - they thought I was mad asking for 250MHz laptops They thought I wanted 2.5GHz)

Granted, the low end laptops will not be "pleasant" to use, that's why we recommend 800MHz CPU or faster. I'm not sure what that spec machine would cost you.

As for data logging, with EFILive you don't even need a laptop, just use the black box logging capability of the FlashScan cable. You'll still need a computer to display the data when you have finished logging.

Regards
Paul

so tell me more about this 'don't need a laptop to gather data' setup. i'd like to see how my car is doing while open tracking it, but i don't want to have a laptop/inverter/cables flying around while pulling 1G in a different direction every few seconds.
what do i need? how does the setup look? and of course, how much does it cost? I already have HPT, so i don't want the full thing, i just want a separate datalogger if possible.

The flashscan interface itself is a stand-alone data logger. You program the PID's (data elements) you want to log in 'black box' mode via the scanner software, and then you need only to take the inteface with you to log data. You then upload the logged data back to your laptop when you are done 'black box' logging.

Here's a picture of the interface:
