How much timing to add to stock tune
If 27 or 28 deg BTDC is the right timing to run, this is about 10 degs more that I am getting right now. I think I need to add about 10 degs to stock tune. I that right?

You run what you can only. If it knocks, it knocks. Dont go by what others say when everyone wants 28* because it seems popular. Run only what your car can run.

dont run what the car "CAN" run. Run what it likes. Some cars like more then others. Personally my car ran the same et/mph at 27 and 29 deg of timing. So no sense in adding more timing when the car doesnt need it. This is around 13.1 AFR too

Kinda what I said but in different words. You dont run the car where it knocks or on the edge. If you can make the same power with 27* versus 29, then yeah, I would run 27 and lean it out even more due to the fact the car will rev faster.

Thats different though. If your talking about having a cam and adding that much timing at part thorttle, then you can do it. But if your cam is stock, then your timing table is almost maxed out. Its low for a reason, those cams dont get much more timing.
