Default Jet chips-- how helpfull are they

I have a 98 camaro ls1 6-spd. i want to add either a stage 1 or stage two. before i put the chip on i will have a lid and y-pipe with flowmaster muffler. i want to know if the chip is worth it or not. and also, should i put the stage 1 or stage 2 on.

they're not worth the cost.

Any device that tricks the comptuer, is BAD.

Jet does not reprogram the ls1 based comptuers, it is simply an interceptor harness.

Spend the money on HPTuners (my vote) or LS1 edit. You won't be sorry.
