Default Caspers fan switch

I purchased a Caspers Fan Switch for my ’98 Z28 and the instructions are vague at best. The .pdf file shows a picture of an LT1 and says to connect it to the 10-pin connector on the passenger side. The only problem is there are two connecters in that location with 10 pins. One is gray and the other is black. All I can say is I hope there products are better than there installation instructions! Any help would be appreciated.

I've run across this before. The connectors should be keyed differently. Most vendors also tend to wire up their cables/harnesses with similar color wire. If you seperate them, you should be able to match up the keying. Hope this helps.

It is the black 10 pin connector. The gray one has a different keying.

Default Caspers Fan Switch

I sent the switch back because it offered little if any benefits over the free fan switch mod on this web site. It will drain the battery if left on while the key is off! The switch wire was also about 3’ too short to be routed through the drivers side door jam as suggested. The only thing it doesn’t do is throwing a non-performance related SES light. The free mod will do this but it clears itself over night.
