i know i shouldn't use a converter to power my laptop when im flashing my chip, but what about when im using datamaster. is this ok. can i log plugged in and then disconnect when im gonna burn.

I don't see a reason as to why you couldn't log with it plugged in. I did this numerous times with logging.
