Default complete noob to tuning

first, i have searched and read the sticky's but i still feel as if it is all over my head. i have the desire to learn how to tune and do it right but i need a starting place. is there a good book that i can read that explains the basics of tuning? or is there just something that i can read online that is really basic? like i said i am really interested in putting forth the time and effort to learn about tuning i just need a push in the right direction.

thanks a lot for your help,
luke

Not sure what youre asking for... Are you trying to decide what package to go with? Are you looking for information on how EFI works? Are you looking for step by step instructions for tuning with a particular software?

im probably going to go with hp tuners but right now i just want to learn about the things ill be tuning not how to tune. i want to get a good understanding of what i will be doing before i start learning how to use the software.

i hope that cleared it up a little bit.
