Default rpm surge cold start, some hot idle

now the rpms will change a little bit, more than i woudl like to see. i have the timing at 22 deg this is for f13 cam and afr heads. i am wondering if i should get the timing higher, or go lower? ill test but cant do it but once a day so its hard. cold start timing is 13-15 deg

Lightbulb

Have you messed with the IAC parked and In/Gear tables?

well i take that back, 50*c is off becuase i have no way to adjust it without messing the other numbers up. but i have small issues there but i know thats because the airflow is off, but its not surging like when cold

I also have minor surge on a cold starts. It goes away completely when it goes into closed loop. I don't have any issues on warm starts.

haha, well what i found was a lot to do with fueling when it was cold. it was getting too much fuel/spark at times on start up. i lowered the afterstart enrichment and played with the start up spark control. i have the startup spark at 0.8 (the multiplier, for 20 and 32*c, i think its the middle 2 cells with numbers in them) i got the start up air fuel to be right about 11:1

also while hot, fueling played a role as well. i played with the proportional fuel to control the correction and swing of the o2s better and i also played witht eh idle overspeed and underspeed spark correction to help the timing keep the rpms under better control. i changed the adaptive idle time to about 0.5 seconds as well for faster response.

results: barely any surgring rpms, if they do its only surging about 50 rpms total peak to min. and the rpms are not swinging any more than 99 rpm at hot idle with warm o2s.
