Did you remove the rear oxygen sensors? If you had long tubes installed but didn't buy rear O2 simulators then that would cause the code to be set. You can fix this with tuning, or by purchasing some O2 simms to plug into the rear O2 jacks.

You removed your cats, that will set the code. The rear O2's basic role in life is to make sure the cats are working. You remove the cats, they did their job and set a code. Rear O2 simms or tuning will fix the problem.

if the SES light starts blinking turn off the car right away, but if it is idling like normal and running fine you will be okay for who knows how long?

Nah, you should be fine. If the car starts to feel like there is something wrong or the light starts blinking, shut it down though for sure. Also, be aware that you won't be able to tell if any NEW codes show up since the SES light is already on. You can usually find O2 simms for $50 used in the classifieds section, and they are really light/small so shipping shouldn't be expensive either.
