question about 150 IAT reading causing retard?
I have been logging recently for cruise tuning and in the hot daytime my iat hits 150 which is the max hptuners can read. I notice I start getting 2-3 degrees of knock in a couple areas when the iat runs really hot like 140-150. Is this normal and why are my iats so high? thanks for any input

do you have the FRA?
you might also consider replacing the IAT sensor to see if that helps.

I saw 165* IATs tuning a STS car with HPT scanner. I see a STS in your sig. I thought that maybe on the street they would go down with some air going down the pipe as opposed to the car sitting on the dyno. Guess not, huh. You can always have the IAT Timing Modifier Table pull more timing at those IATs, or get an intercooler.

IAT pulls timing "good enough" for a stocker but with
the turbo on top of it you probably need to either
pull out more timing for bad air, or pull it out overall
(less appealing).
All of the heat dumped by the rad and A/C condenser
and exhaust flows undercar. When moving I expect it
is diluted enough that the forward piping acts as a
"poor man's intercooler" but when sitting it probably
is bugger hot, maybe hotter outside than in. Not to
mention the blistering pavement.
If your IATs normally sit below the max cell then
I'd say just bump up the last one as a safety net.
Maybe you can somehow duct / baffle the forward
pipe so it has less heated-up air blowing on it,
maybe even improve on that and get some fresh
sent its way.
