Default Autometer Pro Comp Tach Install

I have an '02 LS1 swapped rx7 and I am trying to get the tach working right. I have the dip switches set to 4 cylinder mode as I read that they should be and the signal wire going to #10 on the red side of the PCM (white wire). With the car in off position, the needle floats as normal. With the car in on but not running, the tach zeros itself. While the car is cranking, the tach jumps around. When the car starts the tach just drops to zero and doesn't move. What am I missing? :-\

nevermind, I am an idiot. The vampire clip didn't penetrate all the way. Had I pulled out the voltmeter earlier I would've known that. lol :-)
