Default what would cause a delay in heating on the driver o2?

i did have an a/f gauge hooked up and took it off for an oil temp gauge. all the wires are put back together but on start up it seems the heater in the driver side is not working too well. it was the same with the old o2s and the new ones. i have 2 spots where the purple wire was cut but i think that is just the signal wire so i dont see why its taking longer to heat? these are the new vette rear denso o2s

no, ive got headers so they are the same. stock for stock i think the driver front is closer than the passenger though.

have you checked the heater voltages from side to side to see if they are the same (might want to use as many decimals as your meter will alow).

You're right about the purple wire being one of the signal wires back to the pcm. As far as what could cause the delay...do your best to double check the power supply and ground wires. Make sure they have a good, clean connection. Check the connector itself and see if it needs to be cleaned out. Short of going back to an ACDelco O2 to see if the problem persists, I don't know what else to tell you.

I think it wire C & D (per the O2 sensor plug). I can't confirm the color though.

It could be just the difference in manufacturing tollerances and coincidence (sp?). Have you swaped B1 to B2 to see if the problem follows?

Just confirmed - wire C is your heater switched 12vdc (will show ground when the car is off) and D is the heater ground.

Are you sure? I show C is ground and D is coming from the power supply...and they're either both brown or brown and black like the diagram (from a 99 C5).

your diagram might be more accurate. However, I did use "C" (from B2S2) to power my WB. Might be different on the S1's or from F to Y bods. It's easy to check though. With the key off, both C & D will appear as ground. Turn the key to run and one of them will show 12vdc.

Swaping them would identify if it's specific to the o2 sensor. While you are swapping them, you can easly hook the meter up to check the voltages. Let us know what you find
