misfire cylinder 7
my car was throwing a ses light and it was flashing. i scanned it and the code was p0307. cylinder 7 misfire. i checked plug, wires, coil, injector, and o2 sensors. i changed the o2 sensors and extensions. the code went away. about 300 miles later the ses light came back on. not flashing though. still p0307. i cleared the code, and it still hasn't came back. if it does, what could it be? i heard that i could have a bent pushrod, but if it was a bent pushrod wouldn't the computer catch that quicker than 300 miles? i stumped, do you all have any suggestions? thanks

I bent my #7 pushrods but as soon as I cleared the computer the light came back on. If it doesnt come back I wouldnt worry about it. Does the car sound and drive like normal?

to 99ss00ws6, no the car doesn't sound different or drive different, but when the code is thrown, it does feel like it looses power. to tunafish, i thought about the plug in the beginning, so i changed the whole driverside. the #7 plug looked the same as the others. i don't know fellas, but could an exhaust leak or maybe an intake leak cause this? thanks for all of the suggestions.

#7 is always the first piston to experience problems, so the facto that it is #7 leads most of us to wonder if the piston ringland has cracked on your engine. I would also check your pushrods and valvesprings if the problem comes back to haunt you. I have seen these engines lose their valvesprings tension in 30,000 miles, and they can give you a misfire code. Bob
