Default Need Help deciphering EFILive capture

Ok... Here is the deal. I used to be totally into the AutoTap software, and I downloaded the EFILive software to capture some readings on my 99 Z28.

The capture file is a v5 file.

My car has been getting very poor gas mileage lately.
I have change the knock sensors, plugs and wires within the last month. I thought that the knock sensor code was causing the gas mileage decrease but the problem is still there.

Now I am thinking that it might be the O2 sensors. The car has 138K miles on it and has been running consistent 26-28 mpg up until last month.

If you want to help me figure this out. Below are links to the files.

File 1 First Run
File 2 Second Run

Thanks in advance.

George

Geo - Something looks a bit off. But you knew this already.

It might be a good idea to change the o2 sensors out.

Have you done any mods recently?

No mods recently.

It was strange that the excessive fuel consumption started immediately when the knock sensor went ( P0332 - Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input (Bank 2) ) and I changed both sensors thinking that would fix the problem.

Are you still getting the 0332 code since you replaced the knock sensors?

I believe, and someone may chime in to confirm, when the knock sensors fail, you will end up in OL. the OL table is a rich tune and could help foul up your O2 sensors. Givin the age of your O2 sensors, I would replace them clear the codes and then monitor the system closely for the next 2-300 miles.

No the code hasn't resurfaced.

What you describe makes sense. Because the engine was running extremely rich and I drove it for about two weeks before having the chance to change the sensors.

Do you know a good replacement for the sensors? And, do you think I should change all 4 or just the ones up front? If I could avoid Bosch that would be great, because my last experience with Bosch make my engine sound like it was going to vibrate right out of the bay.

If you don't like bosche, I'd check with the dealer. I would start by replacing the front o2's. The front ones are responsible for the fueling of your car. The rears just let the PCM know if the CAT's are working

I guess if Bosch are good then I will try them. I just know they make the worst spark plugs.

I like the NGK's for spark plugs myself. I do use bosche O2's (13111's) for NB and WB

Ok, I think I am going to get Bosch O2s.. Should I get 13444 or what you have 13111?

Not quite sure what to get.

Looks like you have knock at tip in, your O2 sensors are low at acceleration and the beginning of knock, running lean. Run and post another log including Burst Knock and the 2 Delta Noise level sensors. If they are not available in V5 you can always download the latest version.

I changed out bank 1 of the O2 sensors. I think the problem is fixed ! I noticed that while running the EFILive data capture that the O2 sensor plots are in sync with each other. Before they were 180° out of sync.

I put in the Bosch sensors, $67 each.

Set the computer to relearn the fuel curve. I guess the trip to work tomorrow will be a better indication.

Also, I noticed that there was knock detected when I was in 5th and 6th gear when I would give it some gas, understandable. But in 4th gear and accelerating, 0 knock detected.

Thanks TAQuickness, I'll keep you posted.
