Default cable

I have just bought a 99 Z28 LS1 Camaro.

I also have a 95 Z28 LT1 Camaro
( I know the 95 is OBDII cable but the car is OBD1)

Will my cable I use on my LT1 work on the 99 LS1
They are both OBDII!

I tried it with TTS Datamaster and nothing.

Cheers Andy

I don't believe it will work since OBDI and OBDII use different protocols... the cable translates the data from the DLC in the car to serial communication... your cable can convert OBDI data , not OBDII data. (as you mentioned your 95 is OBDI w/an OBDII plug... but that's where the similarities end... the connector/DLC is the same style but that's it)

Correct... you'll need a cable and software for an OBDII car (i'm not very familiar w/the LT1/OBDI vehicles , but I believe there was something out for them where the software was free?)

w/OBDII your best bet is one of the solutions in the sticky above (what's the best LS1 tuning software?)

It lists all of the major contendors right now, and terms to use to search for information to help make your decision. ALso lists the scan tools currently available (that I know of)

Yes for the LT1 you could use Freescan or TTS Datamater which gave you 20 free recordings.

I had my LT1 tuned by Mad Wolf via email($60) because I'm in the UK, do you know if anyone does Email tuning for the LS1?

Cheers Andy
