long story short... it won't work

1998 F-Body's use a different harness, some different sensors, and a different PCM than 99-02 F-Bodies.

So your only choices are to get another 98 PCM , or convert the car to a 99+ wiring harness... which seems to be more of a PITA than it's worth...
