Innovate LM-1 LogWorks2.0 - Beware?
I was looking for software / firmware updates on
the Innovate site last night and stumbled onto
their forums. They have a LogWorks2.0 release
out now, but it seems to be giving a lot of people
problems - including units going dead when you
push the firmware update, the LM-1 no longer will
be read using the internal 9V battery but needs a
12V supply (for no good reason other than that
-other- Innovate products, do) etc.
Just a heads-up, if you go to load up this stuff you
had best check out their forums and see if you can
gather a foolproof method and setup to do it (the
fix for failed firmware updates is, you get to send
the unit back in and some implication that certain
customers get it fixed for free, leaves me wondering
whether I'd be special or not). I'll be waiting a while,
myself.
Anyone succeed in updating with this, who can say
whether any benefits outweigh the risk / hassle?

I am glad someone else broke the subject first... A C5 friend of mine got caught up in this. It appears he is "not so" special and is having problems getting a response from Innovate on an acceptable fix.
