Default What exactly affects knock learn?

OK, I would just like to know what effects knock learn. Is it just as simple as the computer detect knock, retards the spark, then lowers the knock learn factor? Is the amount the knock learn factor is lowered based on how strong the knock is in the first place?

Also, is running with no MAF going to affect the knock learn?

if you run mafless, you run in sd and your high and low octane tables are the same. just make sure the knock parameters are enough to pull decent timing out (some people have the value very low like 1-2) so that if you get knock it will fix it. only thing is it will not remember it.

i think if you are using the 2 octane tables as they should be and either have 1 bar sd or maf installed, that the knock is detected and recorded, if it keeps happening it will blend the high and low octane tables until all knock has gone away. but im not 100% sure about all that
