Default 98 tach wire help

I've been having a issue trying to identify which pcm wire is for the tach on a 98. My tach works fine, My problem is when using a live wide band o2 computer I can't log the RPM. I also bought the kit to just clip on the plug wire & the RPMs are way off. I've done searchs & the wire that was identified doesn't work. I know that the wire harness is different on the 98's.

Thanks as always for the help,

are you using the dynojet wideband commander?

if so that thing is unable to pick up the signal from the tach wire.

you actually have to tap into one of the wires going into one of your injectors.

call their tech support for details.

my buddy went thru this already, thats how I know.
