Hi there I have a HPP3 and the number used for the 99 LS1 Camaro p/n HYP-30025 is the same as is used for the 2000, 2001 & 2002 camaro and Firebird ( also does Vetts )99-03

check out the Summit racving Catalog

http://www.summitracing.com/catalogs...vdec/290f.html

So you should be ok to use it, if it's a 30025

Cheers Andy

unless Hypertech has changed the rules recently... I thought a 99 programmer will only work on 99 cars... 02 only on 02?

I checked the Hypertech web site and they list the same part number for 99-02 Camaros and firebirds
30025

http://www.hypertech-inc.com/programmer.html

So I went and checked my Hpp3 and it has a different p/n 39052 and it says 99 Camaro/Firebird on the back

According to the Hypertech web site this p/n doesn't exist? it works on my 99 Z28 though

I'm not sure what is going on but surely the same part number Hpp3 is identical!

Maybe I have it wrong!

I bought my Hpp3 second hand and it was advertised as doing 1999 & 2000 cars.

Maybe Hypertech can shed some light on this!

I remember my last car when I bought a used Hpp3 for that is was a 95 Z28 and it would not talk to the car at first. Hypertech were very unhelp because it was second hand!

Maybe someone who has a Hpp3 for 2000, 2001 or 2002 will chime in and shed some light.

Thanks for the replies...

/confused

Mine is part # 390752, even the sticker on the back of the unit itself says this.

What could happen if I use it on my car and its not meant for it? I wonder if it will even work or "see" that its plugged in.

Just had a 3.42 installed a few days ago when I had my housing replaced, and it would be nice to save a few bucks fixing the speedo since I already have a stupid programmer

Same number as mine!

Sorry I gave you wrong info. I looked at the Summit catalog and saw they were all the same number and assumed they would work on all 99-02.

My appologies Andy

Hi I'm not sure what is going on with the part numbers maybe they changed them!

Your best bet is to sell your Hpp3 on Ebay or something and look for a 2002 HPP3 on here or Ebay second hand.

You need to have 50 posts to sell stuff on here.

The HPP3 is handy for recalibrating the speedo when you change your gearing as you have done.

I bought my HPP3 for £50 ($85) as I have some 3.73 gears sat in the garage I may put on next year.

I was just scanning the for sale stuff and there is a guy selling a HHP3 for a 2002 Camaro SS ( you better check P/N) for $200

I know you need one soon to change your speedo here is the thread:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/lsx-parts-sale/406280-tci-ssf-3500-converter-hypertech-pp3-f-s.html

check the sticky on buying and selling parts on here before you go and buy.

Cheers Andy

The part # on mine is 390753 (2000 LS1). I believe they are all year specific.

Looks like 2001 should be 390753 and 2002 should then be 390754

But I have been wrong before!
