Default PE tweaking

Gents,

If I'm just looking to tweak my PE at WOT, is there anything else I need to change besides the PE Multiplier table? Are there any other switches or tables that may override the PE Mulitplier at WOT?

Thanks in advance.

the most common way to "tweak" in teh PE table is to use a wideband...
and set the PE table to be a multiplier of stoich to be exactly what you want to command...then tune teh VE using AFR error % and it will be corect after you do that..as well as you will tune in your ve correctly that way as well

Well, I don't have a wideband and I'm unlikely to incorporate one soon.

So, if I can filter through the rest of your message, modifying the PE table, alone, should result in an actual change if I'm in FTC 22, correct?

unless your OLFA has a higher commanded EQ ratio..

teh Computer uses whatever is higher between OLFA and PE when you go into PE mode(not necessarily WOT...determined by PE vs TPS table on when it actually goes into PE)

and you really cant get proper fueling on the PE tabel by guessing....you need a wideband of some kind to dial it in....your stock narrowband o2 are nowhere near close enough to be accurate(they may read .920 but on different days your narrowband might be showing .920 at 13.0 and another day that same 13.0 might read .980...its just the nature of narrowband o2's)

When you say higher, you should specify that as a multiplier. Those that look at the table as an actual AFR might get confused.

think of it like this...
stoich....14.63
PE of 1.131 means 14.63/1.131 = 12.94(keeping this to 2 decimals for easy of eyes)
to get the PE you want(assuming that your VE is correct in thise cells and would be commanding 14.63-stoich) you can just do math
14.63/desired = multiplier
14.63/12.5 = 1.1704
when you enter PE it always compares it to the OLFA table and uses the higher value( richer A/F ) of the two

I already knew that. I just wanted to make sure nobody got confused with what you were saying.

OK, the OLFA information was new to me, so thank you for the insight.

I can see that warmed up and at WOT, the richest command from the OLFA table is 1.13. My multiplier is always above that, so it looks like I am in control...for now.

I also came across a post that mentioned COT can take over the enrichment as well, although I seriously doubt that I would ever get into a COT regime. Perhaps it's OK to turn it off for one session at the track?

Well, I do, but I haven't come across many tales of melting cats on a basically stock vehicle.

Leave it on, otherwise you will be one of the first. It helps the longevity of your cats, but if you plan on removing them and don't mind them possibly getting plugged or blown up ... disable it then.

you most likely wont melt them....but they will loose all of their 9 lives very quickly..LOL
and it will suck when they stop working and get all clogged up....its usually pretty sudden at teh end of their duty....take an hour long driev soemwhere..and on teh way home you start to notice that you have no power and teh car is fighting you(happened to a buddy of mine...he had to call me to come pick his sorry *** up in the middle of the night just to get home..LOL)
