Default How to shut off headlights when tuning

Like the subject says. How to turn off the headlights when reading or flashing?

I read somewhere that pulling the emergency brake on will shut off the headlights, but doesn't work on my 98 Camaro Z28 A4

if you pull the emergency brake up at least one click "BEFORE" you turn the key, the auto headlights won't come on. it don't work if the car is already running.

^^^ headlights drain alot of battery power... so best to turn them off, especially if you're doing a write

Yes...that's the answer. Especially with LSEdit which takes about twenty minutes to flash and if the battery goes dead when making a write you can lose the pcm (disable it). At least that's what I have read.

So better to be safe then sorry and make sure as little power as possible is consumed when reflashing a PCM. I also pull the fuse for my electric water pump.

I have EFI live also (the write is only about two minutes, but can't get it work yet...boot loader won't load) so for the time being am using LSEdit.

As for the ebrake. I'll give it another try as instructed. Thanks.
