Security light???
I did a search on this and tried a few of the suggested. My security light went on but my car runs fine. I was afraid my fuel would shut off but that has not happend. Im using the factory key with the metal chip in it. I read that sometimes it gets dirty and sets off the code. I cleaned it, used an eraser on it, sprayed carb cleaner on it and the light is still stuck on. Do i have to spend the $ and have a gm dealer turn it off/look at it?
Willing to try any other suggestions on how i can fix it!

Secuity light was on due to a wire breaking in my ignition. It cost me $45. I got lucky because my key was in the ON position when the wire broke causing the vehicle to stay in safe mode. Only crappy thing was the fact that I have to get new keys cut and everyone in my town other than the dealer states its illegal for them to cut a chip key for my ignition. Dealer wants 31.95 per key and $ to cut them. I paid $5.00 per key but cant get anyone to cut them. Dont worry guys, I checked the ohms and figured my key secuirty code out to be a #2 before i ordered them. I am going to try to get my friend at the local hardware store to cut them for me when no one is around. He said he would do them for free so screw system! haha. Hope this never happends to any of you guys cuz it sucked. If it does though, I hope this forum helps.
Thanks
