I thought if you were at WOT it was in 8 cylinder mode despite the speed?

AT WOT it would be 8 cylinder but I am guessing you want to know does HP Tune have software to tune when it cuts in? BTW, variable cam timiing should be controlled by the VCM as well.

I would like a answer as well as the L76 which has DOD and variable cam timing will become available in Commodore after 1st January 2006.

I dare say it will eventually be tunable, once the PCM is cracked.
Should be able to run it like lean cruise and lower the trigger point where 8 cyl comes on. Like PE mode.

There is a very fine line when DOD actually kicks in. Very steady throttle, I think somewhere over 40 mph, and other conditions. Just controlled through solenoids which direct pressurized oil to the the lifters which retracts the lock pins collapsing the lifter and keeps from pushing up the pushrod keeping the valve closed. Should be able to disable the solenoids in due time I would assume.

Variable cam timing? So does that mean they have VTEC?
