Question where to start on head/cam car

i just finished ls6 heads and lunati 221/221 .558 cam car idles decent dies once in a while during start up, got codes for multiple misfire detected and now car acts like a bunch of torque of something is pulled out, motor goes flat at 3000-3500 when you stomp it. I also just installed a 3200 vigilante converter what parameters do i need to look at and how to change. Car is not locking and unlocking converter. Car actually does ok until you stomp it. What should map sensor be reading i looked with predator and looks like it stays at 1.5 all the time. what should be plugged into the two male inputs. I have the top one connected to vacuum line in back of intake other the bottom doesn't have anything hooked to it. Im not running the egr or the air system. Any help would be appreciated have ls1 edit program and will be trying to use this to program the car.

as far as the cam, you want to take out some fuel in the lower ve range, and increase idle airflow but that also depends on the lsa of the cam as well. my car didnt die and i have a 230/232 cam and didnt touch the tune before start up

i agree, increase the base aiflow a bit until you can get it to idle, you may have to raise idle rpm also, i'd start with 100 rpm and back if off as needed or raise it.

As for the misfire, not sure about edit, but on hpt there are misfire mode tables in the engine diag section. I raise these by 1.5x till I get no more misfire codes.

wow, I got some with my Z06 cam......guess just happens to some and not to others, weird.

I only got it twice though. Both times down the interstate while tuning VE, so after the second time i increased the table it was all gone.

ok if i turn the engine misfire codes off in the engine diagnostic section
will this solve the problem with the car wanting to go flat after it has opened up. after it is opened up one time it won't pull. stomp it the second time and timing or something is retarded because it stops reving at about 3000rpm

Ve probably is a ways off so that needs to be taken care of. As for the misfire, your just raising the counts before the computer trips the code.

You might still be a ways off even with that file, every car is different and it could be close, or even further off.......welcome to the world of tuning!

Also, bump your PE values up way more than you think you'll need to. When you 'stomp it' you're going into Power Enrichment and probably sitting WAY lean with the new heads and cam.

I don't know if I'm different or what not, but for WOT, I had to lean it out 7% or so with heads/cam compared to without.

I have the same deal - ls6 heads and a very similar cam with lt headers. if you want to look at my Edit file, let me know.

you must have been rich before hand. with heads and cam, you will definately need more fuel WOT sicne you are pullin in more air, or at least should be
