Default Why trans pressure modifiers?

If you just program what pressures you want, at what temp and torque. Then why would you need the pressure modifier blocks? Why not just put in the pressures in the base pressure table.

To assist in achieving desired shift durations.

I've never seen a good explanation of what they
do or how they work but I think, for example, you
could be upshifting or downshifting at the same load
and similar speeds, depending on the driving situation,
and you might want a different pressure depending
on the gear change (2-3 vs 3-2) just because every
one is a different combo of apply & release actions,
thus each having a different "sweet spot".

But I sure would like to see some discussion of the
details & intent.

A tune might have to do with it but a fresh rebuild
should act no different (or rather, no worse) than
stock.

Have to determine whether it's the trans, or the
torque converter clutches that are slipping. A bit
of road logging would put that plain. Never heard
of a stock converter having a clutch slip problem
though.

The likeliest way for a stock car to start slipping
I think is MAF fouling / porting. That's tune related.
But I'm thinking "point the finger at the other guy",
is maybe going on, here.
