Default 05 GTO tuning question

On a stock 05' GTO with exhaust, what can I expect from tuning with HPT(when avail). Will the car pick up a few tenths with proper fueling, timing, TM turned off, and COT turned off? Would the car run even faster with an SD tune or would it run the same as a well tuned MAF tune?

Thanks,
Jason

have fun trying to SD tune an LS2...just looking over the files i have doesnt make that look promising. You should be able to pick up a considerable amount though...ls2's are very detuned from the factory no matter the model.

Why do you say it doesn't look promising? Please elaborate.

Thanks

Lets just say ls2's are very different then ls1's...its also relatively early in the process so maybe the tables just arent there yet but from what I've seen doing a SD tune wont be easy.

LS2 SD works no problems we have aussie tuners doing them already. Although no real need given the huge MAF they come with stock.

So on a stock ls2, you don't believe you would pick up that much from a decent SD tune and the benefit of no maf as a restriction(or is it?) and possibly OTRCAI or home brew CAI? Can you give us an inkling as to what tables are different than the LS1?

Thanks

It's all relative, my point is the larger MAF is nowhere near the restriction the old small ones used to be.

Most of the tables function exactly the same way as the LS1 does. Idle is the main difference and a couple of other things.
