Anyone know the IDLE RELEARN PROCESS?

only process i've ever used, is turn key and wait till it'll control the idle itself...
I think i recall a formal process being along the lines of:
1. Start car, let idle for 60 seconds (or maybe more?) in Park
2. Put emergency brake on, put car in Gear, let idle for 60 seconds again
3. Return to park
It'll learn pretty quickly on its own as well w/out using this formal process

That is the security relearn process. The idle relearn you basically just have to start the car and rev it a little to keep it going at first, then once it gets semi steady. just let it sit there and idle for a min, change it in and out of gear a few times.
I usually then let it sit turned off for a few then come back out and start it and go through the same process of letting it idle, by the third start the idle has usually learned out. This usually only has to be done when you do a full rewrite or mess with idle rpm or base airflow signifigantly.

There was a thread in the external section where a guy installed headers and a cam and it was idling like a$$. I swapped my cam and I was having issues too so I took note.
It was like turn the key on for 9 seconds?, off for 45?, repeat 11 times?
I did it and it worked like a charm. The idle got a lot smoother on start-up.
A buddy needs to do this and I can't find that tread to save my life. I was hopeing this section might have some advice... Thanks.

A method a friend put me onto which gives you a steady idle staight up after PCM reset or disconected battery -
turn ignition on without starting , completly depress throttle then release and switch ignition off.
repeat above a second time.
then start as normal
